Anton’s passion for martial arts started at 7 years old and continues today, racking up over 35 years of training.  He founded No Quarter as a boxing and martial arts-focused gym in 2011 and it's a proudly independent business.

 

Anton is a striking specialist with a proven background in boxing, kickboxing and other various martial arts. 

He is a professional in this field and was until recently employed as the head competition coach for the University of Sydney Taekwondo club.


Anton trains people from all walks of life. From the average Joe or Joanne looking to lose a few kilos to people competing in combat sports.

Anton is a nationally recognised boxing and kick boxers trainer that coaches competitors spanning from amateur to elite level. ​

Qualifications and professional experience:

  • Qualified Personal Trainer.

  • Qualified Boxing Coach - Boxing N.S.W.

  • Registered Coach - Combat Sports Authority N.S.W.

  • Working With Children Certified.

  • 20 years working as a full time Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.

  • Over 35 years combat sports experience.

Coming to us from London England, Ewan has been an invaluable addition to No Quarter.  Having competed as an amateur boxer since the age of 16, Ewan paid his dues in South London’s oldest and toughest gyms.  He is passionate about all facets of combat sports and that love carries over to his approach to the way he trains.  

 

Ewan’s old school grit and no compromise approach to his own training influences his approach to how he trains others.

In addition to teaching No Quarter’s boxing classes, Ewan reigns as No Quarter’s baldest boxer (2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019) and the Knuckle Heads Team Captain.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified Boxing Coach - Boxing N.S.W.

  • Registered Coach - Combat Sports Authority N.S.W.

  • 15 Years competitive boxing experience.

Taryn is No Quarter’s youngest team member. Hailing from Queensland, Taryn is a passionate Rugby League fan - bleeding Maroon and a dedicated North Queensland Cowboys supporter. She came up playing Rugby League and excelled as a winger in Touch Football, playing in many regional and indigenous tournaments placing 2nd in the Murri Knockout.

 

Coming from a football background, Taryn has a great understanding of strength and conditioning training.  Taryn’s energy is contagious and so is her passion for exercise.  

 

Taryn has been training at No Quarter for 4 years and has been working as a trainer for the past 2 years.  You can train with Taryn at any of No Quarter’s group class formats, and she is also available for one on one training.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Personal Trainer.

  • Registered Coach - Combat Sports Authority N.S.W.

  • Boxing and Kickboxing Instructor.

  • Working With Children Certified

Her training moto is “Don’t grow a wishbone where your backbone should be”.

JOHN POLESSO

John Polesso - Power & Strength Training instructor at No Quarter

POWER LIFTING, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING, BASIC TO ADVANCED TECHNIQUES

John teaches the Power & Strength Training class at No Quarter on Tuesday and Thursday nights. View our timetable here.

John posesses a diverse sporting background spread over more than two decades.

 

He believes in focusing on the basics, including barbell movements to build strength, power and improve overall conditioning.  John's classes focus on proper technique and mastery of the basics, before progression to advanced exercises.  

 

John loves putting people through tough workouts that build physical and mental strength.  If you're new to strength training and want to ensure you're getting started with a proper foundation, John's class is the one to take.  

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Personal Trainer

  • 10 Years Strength Training and Functional Fitness Training.

  • Boxing and Kickboxing Instructor.

Steve is the gyms wild card..

He comes from a competitive aerobics background of which he was a dominant force at State and National levels.

He has been a professional fitness instructor and master instructor for over 25 years.
Discovering Boxing a little later in career he has transferred the enthusiasm and discipline that got him to the highest level in aerobics to his boxing.

Steve is a tough trainer and his years of fitness experience become evident when he is addressing the class and putting them through their paces.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Personal Trainer.

  • Qualified Boxing Coach - Boxing N.S.W.

  • 25 years Professional Fitness/Master Instructor and Personal Trainer.

  • National Teams Silver Medalist - Sport Aerobics.

  • Two times National Pairs Finalist - Sport Aerobics.

  • Two Times State Pairs Champion - Sport Aerobics.

  • Creator of Boxing Program to combat Parkinson's disease.

Steve's training philosophy: With the right encouragement most clients can achieve more than they realise. It’s my job to give my clients the strength, fitness, skills and belief that they can reach their goals.
